Mixing Irish Traditional and World music styles, including new compositions and old favourites, ‘Took a Notion’ provides a variety of tastes for the listener to savour. Old and new Irish melodies are melded together with music from Denmark, France and the UK. Original compositions bear the hallmark of influences from Latin America, Africa and of course Irish music. Arrangements tip their to hat to world of Classical, Country Rock, Eastern Europe, India and Jazz music. An effort is made to acknowledge the rich heritage of Irish music and its indelible influence on this artist while recognising the many musical choices of the world we now live in.
