Geallta

Geallta (mening ‘Bethrothed ‘or ‘Promised’ in Irish) are an experienced musical duo based in the Munster area who perform traditional, classical, ceremonial and contemporary music for wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions.

Professional, flexible and friendly, Geallta are guaranteed to bring a touch of class to your big day and help make some fond memories. They comprise of Harpist/Vocalist Aisling Urwin and Violinist Brendan O’Sullivan and together, they will do their utmost best to embellish your ceremony with a selection of various different pieces that may even include some of your own personal favourites.

Aisling has been immersed in music of varying genres from an early age ranging from Jeff Buckley to Iarla O’Lionaird to Joni Mitchell. She possesses an enchanting voice that never fails to capture the attention of the listener and along with her B.Mus degree in Music performance from University College Cork, her complete command of the harp compliments her dulcet tones perfectly.

Brendan has been playing fiddle for 38 years, 25 of them as a professional musician including four years as a lead soloist in Riverdance. He has toured the world with several different groups and his influences have molded and shaped his style of fiddle playing into one that is brave and contemporary. His music ranges from Irish Traditional, Jazz, World music and Rock, and has performed in such places as the Sydney Opera House, the National Concert Hall and for the Ryder Cup.
